What I Thought
1. Call Me By Your Name — (? - 5/2)
- My god it made me miss Italy
- Very atmospheric and beautifully written
- Age gap is creepy
2. Club Dead — (5/10-5/21)
- Weird horny vampires but fun
3. The Midnight Library — (5/23-5/25)
- Regret makes us shrivel
- Alternate realities
- Cheesey
4. The Favorite Sister — (5/21-5/29)
6. A Visit from the Goon Squad — (6/1-6/11)
7. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy — (5/29-7/6)
- Took me awhile to read
- Funny, ironic
- I wanted to love this because of the hype but I just liked it
8. How to be Perfect — (7/8-7/17)
- Good intro to philosophy
9. The Secret History — (6/15-7/20)
- I loved it I loved it I loved it
10. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe — (7/21-7/25)
11. Bunny — (7/22-8/1)
12. You Truly Assumed — (7/28-8/3)
13. 13 Reasons Why — (8/3-8/5)
- Can't remember any of it, weak, lame characters
14. Exile and the Kingdom — (1/31-8/8)
- Some stories were better than others
- Yes it took me 7 months because it's a short story collection
- Renegade or the Confused Mind... incredible... disturbing
15. We are Okay — (8/10-8/13)
15.25. Milk and Honey — (8/13)
- Literally one of the worst things I've ever read
- Nothing redeemable I hated all of it
15.75. Spellbound — (8/3-8/14)
16. The Woman in the Window — (8/15-8/25)
17. Less — (8-26-9/5)
- A good funny book about growing up
- Definitely didn't deserve a pulitzer though
18. The Silent Patient — (8/28-9/15)
- Really good!
- The slow build-up but couldn't put it down at the end
- Way better than woman at the window, tighter
19. A Child Called It — (9-10-9-22)
- Disturbing
20. I'm Glad My Mom Died — (10-05 - 10-07)
- Poignant and hard to read
21. The Candy House — (09-24-10-02)
- Good
- Application but not analysis
- Egan's ability to capture different voices
- I remember key sections really well, like the hot air balloon scene
- I had too high of expectations
22. Why Buddhism is True — (9-23-11-22)
- Kind of dull
- Learned more about how the mind works but it was hard to understand the spiritual parts
23. 9 Perfect Strangers — (12/01-12/10)
- Too long and dragging for little result
- Not much action
24. Matilda — (11-09-12-16)
- Miss Honey is a trauma-dumper
25. Ecotopia — (8/3-12-28)
- Loved it, very thought provoking
26. Gone Girl — (12-13-12-20)
- Enrapturing even on second read
26 books is good! I didn't read a single book all of my spring semester of university because I was having a hard time but I still read some really good books this year.
